Spring Walking Tours are Back!
Spring is here and history is blooming at Red Bank Battlefield Park! Lace up your sneakers and join us for a series of fun and fascinating walking tours that explore the people, stories, and hidden histories of this remarkable Revolutionary War landscape.
Our tours are led by our knowledgeable volunteers, who bring the past to life with stories you won’t hear anywhere else.
Spring Tour Schedule
April 4 – Secrets Beneath the Soil: The Hessian Mass Burial
Discover the story behind the Hessian mass burial uncovered at Red Bank and how archaeology is helping us learn more about the soldiers who fought and died here.
April 18 – Remembering the Forgotten: African Americans and the Battle of Red Bank
Explore the often-overlooked stories of African Americans connected to the Battle of Red Bank and the broader Revolutionary War.
May 2 – A Scottish Rebel in America: Hugh Mercer’s Revolutionary World
Meet Hugh Mercer, a Scottish-born soldier whose remarkable life journey led him to the American Revolution.
May 9 – Walking in Their Footsteps: A Whitall Descendant at Red Bank
Hear the Whitall family story through the eyes of a descendant who shares a personal connection to the historic home and battlefield.
May 16 – Herbs, Healing, and Home: Early American Midwifery
Join us in the garden! Step into the world of early American healing traditions and learn how herbs, midwives, and home remedies played a vital role in 18th-century life.

Meet at the Whitall House
Tours last approximately 1 hour
Please be prepared for walking around the park
Tours are free, but space is limited and registration is required.
